Why Use A WhirlWind Propeller?

Without a method of converting the power produced by the engine into useful thrust, an aircraft would just sit still and create a lot of noise and go nowhere. In the past, all kinds of different propeller designs were tried: sometimes flat wooden blades, from one bladed counterweighted to multiple blade models rotating at various speeds.
Variable pitch propellers have a distinct advantage compared to fixed pitch models. This translates into a more fuel efficient, higher performing aircraft with much improved rate of climb and shorter take-offs for those tight places.

WhirlWind Propellers Corporation manufactures a complete line of composite, ground adjustable, aircraft propellers for the light sport, experimental aircraft category. They were established in 1995 to meet the growing demand for composite constant speed propellers on the market.

ROTAX Series Propeller

GA-RW3B PROPELLER  ASTM (F2506-1) CERTIFIED
EFFICIENT - QUIET - LIGHT WEIGHT
WhirlWind's Rotax GA Series propellers (ASTM certified) are designed for LSA and S.T.O.L. type aircraft. Optimized planform shape and proprietary airfoils make this propeller efficient and very quiet in operation. The carbon fiber construction with X-Core ensures a safe, strong propeller with low inertia as Rotax requires. The Nickel leading edge provides superior abrasion protection and the blade's high gloss natural carbon fiber finish will satisfy the most discriminating owner.
WhirlWind's GA blades are constructed from aerospace thermo-set composite materials, and are equipped with a full length electro-formed nickel leading edge for unparalleled durability and precise fit. These blades are light and durable, and are suitable for flying in rain and from unimproved airstrips WhirlWind's GA hubs are machined from aerospace grade billet aluminum.
